Introducing Our New Birmingham Depot Manager: Richard Burns

As our Birmingham depot manager, Richard will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the engineers, controlling inventory levels, ensuring a safe work environment, and other similar management tasks. Of course, Richard will also be dealing with customers, working closely with the brilliant Tia Beasley, who is helping our new manager find his feet.
On what he’s enjoying about working for BGS so far, Richard says that the company “has good morals” and that “everyone is very keen to help me” as a new starter. Richard has also praised the company’s promotion of a healthy work-life balance.

Richard has been busy in the short time he’s been with us, learning as much as possible about the job at hand. “I usually use my first few weeks to sit back and take in as much as I can and learn each stage step-by-step, one thing at a time.”

Richard tells us, “I am highly motivated by proving people wrong or turning things round that others may have struggled with”, qualities that will no doubt push him to succeed at our Birmingham depot and have a positive influence on our staff.

We asked Richard what advice he would give to someone finding their way in our industry, to which he said, “There is always something new to be learnt…take your time and become a team player.”

The team at BGS is excited to have Richard join the team and is looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the table. While Richard settles into his new position, we encourage everyone to wish him a warm welcome!
