The team at BGS attended the Huyton Police Station, situated in the Liverpool, L36 postal code area, to repair a damaged door and successfully oversaw the installation of a replacement unit.
We were contacted by the client as they wanted to have a new motor fitted to their electric roller shutter safe drive. However, after our staff removed the motor canopy, they discovered that the bearing had collapsed, resulting in the shaft falling on the endplate. This caused the shaft to be slowly cut away by the endplate, significantly impacting its functionality. After a thorough inspection, it became clear that the system was irreparable and that a replacement door would be required.
The initial challenge for our staff was to isolate the door before having it measured for a replacement. After consulting with the client to select a new door, we promptly and safely arranged for the removal of the old unit. Our team needed to consider the quickest way to have the damaged door removed and the new model installed, as it was imperative that the police were able to continue with daily operations uninterrupted.
Ultimately, our team was able to install the new door around the roof of the van dock, causing minimal disruption to the client. Our engineers used an electric scissor lift and a manual genie lift to complete the job quickly and safely. We removed the damaged door swiftly and made sure that it was dealt with responsibly before having the replacement model installed and comprehensively tested. The client was left totally satisfied with the professionalism of our staff and the effectiveness of our service overall.
